My journey in the art world started when I was 16 years old and an exchange student in White Pigeon, Michigan, USA. In the little high school was a marvelous supportive art teacher. Her name was Patricia Davio. She introduced me to clay .... ..... and a lifelong love affair began .......
in the 1980s i studied art in Kiel, in the north of germany, with a major in ceramics. My Professor was Johannes Gebhardt. he taught us to see and analyse Forms,to appreciate the roundness of a curve, and the beauty found when the relationship between the foot and body of a vessel is just right, and when the handle is pulled in a fresh and organic way.
After setting up my studio, I worked first in handbuilding and then my attention shifted more onto working on the pottery wheel . I offered ceramic art classes .... and everybody came : Children, GrownUps, Families and Groups , filling my house with their creative Energy, Joy and Laughter.
In 2011 my life changed and I felt the need to go inside and find out what to do next and where to go from here. I went to Fairfield, Iowa and there i Found my second big Love .. ... Oil Painting. I studied in Bill Teeple's Studio at the Icon Gallery. I feel very grateful and blessed to have the Opportunity to study Painting with such a great , kind , knowledgeable Human Being, Who loves his students and teaching Art from the bottom of his heart. He creates amongst his students a wonderful athmosphere of shareing and supporting each other. i am very grateful that the love i put into all my artwork is also seen and appreciated by people from many other places and countries.
